The Military

Our soldiers do not need to settle rich men's squabbles.

Our soldiers are not toys.

-The post-9/11 wars have caused military contracts to increase to their highest levels since World War II.

-Pentagon spending has totaled over $14 trillion since the start of the war in Afghanistan, with one-third to one-half of the total going to military contractors.

-The military is not a tool for coercive "diplomacy."

They are people.

-We must implement wartime contracting reforms.  Defense contractors have too much influence.

-Congress must reassert it's war making responsibility.  The Executive Branch is not Constitutionally allowed the wartime powers it currently has.

-No more military adventurism.  Let the Department of Defense focus on just that: defense.
